What to Wear for a Family Portrait
Family portraits are so special. A great portrait can stay in the family for generations. At Myles Studio Photography we know that your family means everything to you. You laugh together, cry together, take vacations together. Your love for each other is endless. That's why we want to make sure we help to create a family portrait that shows who you are as a family, while also making sure you look your best. Whether your a family of 2 or 20, with multiple generations, it's my job to bring out the best in you.
In order to make a great family portrait, one of the most important factors is deciding what to wear. Your clothing can make of brake your photo session. Below are some tips to help.
1. Choose a color theme. This can be done in several ways. By wearing all the same color, wearing shades of the same color, or choosing a dominant color and one or two complimentary colors. Take a look at a few photos below. But keep in mind, you can put your own twist to it and wear clothing that's comfortable.
2. Your footwear also plays a key. Shoes and boots work best. Sneakers should only be worn if compliment your outfit, like your wearing jeans and t-shirts. Most importantly, your shoes between each family member should match in color and style. For example, if brown boots are worn, everyone should have some type of brown boot.
3 Clothing should be in the same style. If mom is wearing something formal, the the rest of the family should be formal as well.
4. This is a fun tip. Bring props if you like. For example, everyone in caps, or everyone wearing sun glasses. Use your imagination.

Lambs Hill - Venue Highlight
There are so many amazing wedding venues in the hudson Valley. One of my favorite venues I've had the opportunity to work at is the Lambs Hill Venue in Beacon NY. It's like a place out of a storybook. The view is amazing, the banquet space has such a rustic charm. Add the farm animals that they allow the wedding couples to be photographed next to, and you come up with amazing photos and amazing memories. Mikayla's Senior Portrait Session
Mikayla is a very special young lady who came to our studio for her senior photos. She and her mom knew right away that they not only wanted to do some traditional cap and gown photos, but also studio and on location photos, so that is what we did. In studio we had fun with the cap and gown, adding a few props to enhance the session, while also doing several wardrobe changes to add even more pizzazz.
We later traveled to Minnewaska State Park where we walked on the trails by a rushing stream and waterfalls for some more awesome photos! Here are a some of my favorite pics.

Even though it is a bit conflicting, as photographer usually aim for natural scenery. However, the end result is breathtaking!

At our photography studio we follow a trend of vertical photographs because it makes it easier for us to capture the flow of pictures. This trend took birth due to smartphones, because every picture you capture is automatically vertical until your turn it sideways. This is huge jump from the DSLR and mirror-less systems which are originally in the horizontal position.
