Mikayla is a very special young lady who came to our studio for her senior photos. She and her mom knew right away that they not only wanted to do some traditional cap and gown photos, but also studio and on location photos, so that is what we did. In studio we had fun with the cap and gown, adding a few props to enhance the session, while also doing several wardrobe changes to add even more pizzazz.
We later traveled to Minnewaska State Park where we walked on the trails by a rushing stream and waterfalls for some more awesome photos! Here are a some of my favorite pics.

Whether it is a graduation or a wedding, or just about any event that is worth capturing and keeping alive in a photograph requires professional and affordable photographers who can save all these moments by a single click of their camera. The most obvious way through which you can scale your event’s photography is by hiring an expert. However, choosing one is like choosing the prefect hairstylist. One wrong move, and everything can be ruined to the point of no return.
Unfortunately, there are actually no set of rules that photographers are required to follow which means there is no guarantee that the quality of work delivered will be what you are looking for. This is exactly why we have compiled a list of tips and tricks that you can follow to hire the best photographer for your special event.
One of the most important aspects when hiring a photographer is to look at the range of expertise they have to offer to you. These can include, wedding shoots, photojournalism, and product photography to name a few. The photographer may use the existing lighting condition or even work in artificial lighting situations.
At the end of the day it all matters on the kind of event you want the photographer to cover. If you are looking for someone who will effectively be able to capture people shots, you might want to go for someone who can work with controlled lighting. You might even require the services of an all-rounder, who will be able to capture everything that you throw at them!
When searching for affordable photographers it is important that you ask family and friend for recommendations. This is one of the easiest ways you can use as you can also ask for their reviews. The recommender can also provide you information about the photographer’s nature and if he/she is the perfect one to hire for your event.
If you want a clear picture of the photographer’s skills you must take a look at the work he/she has done in the past. Even though there are a lot of affordable photographers available, making sure they have the required skills is also very important. Ask the photographer you are considering hiring for their best client work. They may have an online portfolio for instance a social media page or website which you can go through. If you find their skills suitable, you can go ahead and hire them.
There are numerous different photographers who use Photoshop along with Lightroom to enhance their pictures. Be extremely cautious and never fall for this. If affordability is your major concern, go through the list of affordable photographers you have shortlisted and pick the one who has the best skills and who will not go overboard with the use of editing software.
As a client, it is your right to negotiate. Ensure that you negotiate on a price you believe is more than you can afford. However in your search for affordable photographers, do not compromise on the quality. At the end of the day quality pictures is what you are looking for!
We all love looking at gorgeous portraits. The subjects might be a family member, a friend, a model, or even a stranger. A well-captured portrait has the power to tell us a story. It creates mystery and brings out happy memories. A Portrait Photography Studio also has the potential to reveal the true personality of the subject as well.
So, how do we at Myles Studio take such perfect portrait shots? Following are some tips and tricks that we follow!
Backgrounds play an essential role when it comes to portraits. As a portrait is all about the subject’s face, it is crucial that you choose a background that does not interfere with the subject. A simple and uncluttered background is going to work better when it comes to portraits. Nonetheless, often, surroundings might need to be considered in order to bring out the real personality of the subject.
At our Portrait Photography Studio, we believe that if a photo is captured in natural light, one has the best chance to get an incredibly natural look alongside natural colors as well as skin tones. However, having an outdoor shoot might be tricky, since you may not be able to regulate the light in most circumstances. It is essential to bear in mind that you do not pose the subject right in front of the sun. This might lead to unwanted brightness and deep shadows. If you want to conduct your shoot indoors, ensure that you make use of a soft and evenly distributed light source to light up your subject.
Pose along with the angle of the body as well as face play a critical role in portrait photography. Having your subject look right into the camera without any expression whatsoever can become incredibly boring. Try flaring up your portraits using some sort of a twist! At our Portrait Photography Studio, we believe that this twist can be a sexy smile or an extravagant look to name a few. All one needs to do is experiment with different poses and get shots which look great!
It is important to play around with different apertures to discover the one which suits the shot you are about to take the best. A wider aperture which has a lower number is going to blur the background out, leading to the subject standing out in the shot. A smaller aperture which has a higher number will help the entire scene come into a better focus. Our Portrait Photography Studio recommends using f/2.0 to f/5.0 when it comes to clicking the perfect portraits pictures.
Framing is a photography technique where the photographer draws attention to any one element of the primary subject by framing it with the secondary subject present in the image. Framing provides an image depth and helps draw the eyes to a specific point of interest in the photograph.
Now that we have shared the secrets our Portrait Photography Studio, we hope you will use them too and see a massive difference in your portraits as well!
